MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has cut the nu8mber of permissions required to start an industry to just five, reports Clara Lewis.

Setting up an industry in MIDC estates used to require 67 permissions from the state, and 19 from the Centre. However, non-MIDC areas will still require 67 permissions.

The five permissions required for MIDC estates will be land allotment, permission to mort8gage, building plan approval, building completion certificate and final fire NOC.
