Accident in Mumbai-Goa highway kills one, injures six

MUMBAI: A 24-year-old youth was killed and 6 other men and women were injured after the private luxury bus there were travelling in skid and toppled on the Mumbai-Goa highway.

The incident occured on Tuesday around 4 am when the bus travelling from Banda village in Sindhudurg district towards Mumbai reached Phugao village near Kolad.

A motor vehicle accident case has been initially registered at Roha police station against the bus driver under MV Act Section 72/114. He has been detained by the Kolad police an after panchanama, he will be booked for rash and negligent driving causing death under relevant sections of the IPC.
