Dr Sunil Wadkar (38) allegedly raped the doctor who had met him for an interview at his private nursing home in Vasai recently. According to the complainant, after the interview Wadkar offered to drop her home. He, however, drove her in his car to a secluded place on the highway in Vasai, where he raped her. He even took nude pictures of the woman.
Wadkar allegedly threatened to make the pictures public if the woman complained. On Tuesday, the woman registered a complaint with the Valiv police in Vasai (east). Wadkar has been arrested and remanded to two days police custody. His Skoda car has been seized by the police. He has been booked under sections 376(rape) and 506(criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal code.
He was the chief health officer till a year ago. He was allegedly removed from service following complaints of harassing women employees.
