The police have filed an FIR on Thursday on the complaint of a 28-year-old woman in Powai. The Bombay high court ordered the crime branch to investigate the case.
Earlier police recorded the statement of the six persons, including the survivor, and sent her for medical examination. On Friday and Saturday, statements of more than nine residents of Powai who could help in the investigation was recorded. No arrest has been made yet. The sleuths also collected the CCTV footage of Hirandani's office as directed by the HC.
The crime branch has registered an FIR at Powai police station against eight persons, including senior inspector Y L Jadhav, builder Niranjan Hiranandani, Prakash Wadkar and Sanjay Sansare. The survivor had claimed that Jadhav, Wadkar and Sansare raped her earlier this month allegedly over an attempt to evict her from her hut.
