MUMBAI: The BMC( Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) on Monday granted a two-day extension to the residents of the illegal Campa Cola society flats owners.

The BMC was going to enter their premises on Tuesday to snap the water, gas and electricity connections but have given them two more days as there has been a death in the society on Sunday and the family is seeking time to complete the last rites of the deceased.

The date of demolition has been postponed as the prayer service for the death of Vinod Kothari, who passed away on June 15, will be held on Thursday.

The BMC has now fixed the date on Friday, June 20.

The prayer service for Vinod Kothari has been extended as his son who lives abroad will arrive in Mumbai at night on Monday.
