Eight new ward committee chairpersons elected in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The ruling Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) managed to win four ward committees out of eight, for which elections were held on Wednesday.

Shiv Sena's Jitendra Walvi and BJP's Jyotsna Mehta were elected unopposed as the chairpersons of P South and C and D wards respectively.

Shiv Sena's Pranita Waghdhare and BJP's Pravin Shah became chairpersons of F-South and F-North and R-North and R-Central wards.

Independent corporator Cyril DSouza was elected chairman of P-North ward committee with the support of Sena-BJP-MNS.

In the election held for A, B and E ward committee, Manoj Jamsutkar from Congress was elected.

NCP's Ratna Mahale became chairman of G-South ward committee, while Congress corporator Ramashish Gupta was elected chairman of R-South ward committee.
