MUMBAI: A junior engineer of BMC' s L ward was caught by the city anti corruption bureau accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 on Tuesday.
Arrested engineer identified as Narendra Bhoir had demanded Rs 1.5 lakh from a civil contractor. However, on March 15 he accepted Rs 50,000 from the complainant and was demanding Rs 70,000 more. ACB officials said that the contractor had carried out some work for a builder for which Bhoir was calling and harassing him.
"The complainant initially paid Rs 50,000 but things went out of his hand when Blair's demands continued and he laid a trap. As decided on Tuesday, when Blair accepted the first installment of Rs 20,000 , ACB officials arrested him outside the Kurla railway station.
