MUMBAI: BEST officials on Tuesday said due to the bi-monthly billing in January, consumers will not have to pay any additional charges. The bill is being generated for two months due to a major problem in the main server, which is shut for the past 15 days.

"Consumers who have opted for payment of electricity bills directly through their bank account by ECS are requested to increase the upper limit of ECS mandate at their respective banks. Alternatively, they may pay the bills at our cash collection centre," a BEST press note stated. "Inconvenience caused to our consumers is deeply regretted. For any clarifications in this matter, consumers are requested to contact on 22843939," it added.

"Due to technical reasons, there's a delay in processing BEST electricity bills for November and December 2013. The consumers will get the slab benefits in the bi-monthly bill," the note added.
