MUMBAI: A senior citizen was attacked and robbed of her gold chains worth Rs 70,000 by her grandson and his two accomplices when she refused to give them money on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Revathi Medhekar's (75) home at Medhekar chawl in Bhandup (W). The police are searching for the accused.
Medhekar, a widow, was alone at home when grandson Kalpesh Kadam (21) and his two accomplices entered the house and demanded money. When she refused, they attacked her. "Medhekar suffered injuries on her head and hands, but is out of danger,'' said a Bhandup police officer. Kadam had come out of jail only last month; he was convicted for stealing his mother's gold valuables.
