CM Chavan unveils five-point agenda for Maharashtra's development

MUMBAI: Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday unveiled five-point programme for development of Maharashtra.

In his speech in Mantralaya during the Independence Day function, Chavan said that his government would focus on quality education, comprehensive industrial development, water management, planned urbanisation and agriculture efficiency. Chavan's five point agenda is a clear indication of the ruling DF government exercise ahead of the 2014 general and assembly elections.

Further addressing citizens, the CM said that major challenge before Maharashtra is economic slowdown. "Ample electricity needs to be provided to farming sector and industries," Chavan said, adding, "Priority should be given to sustainable employment generation proposals."

The CM further cited that Maharashtra has tradition of administration, financial discipline. "It is everyone's responsibility to maintain the tradition in future too," Chavan added.
