Six held for fleeing with truck at Vasai

MUMBAI: Six men have been arrested for fleeing with a truck carrying copper at Vasai on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway on Tuesday night.

The truck which was headed to Gujarat was parked at the Verma Sales Petrol pump at Sativali on the highway in Vasai.

On Tuesday night, the six men thrashed the driver, pulled him out of the vehicle and fled with the truck. The driver informed the Valiv police.

The police lodged a search for the men and arrested them from different locations. Police seized copper worth Rs 12 lakhs from them. Those arrested include Salman Safi (19), Javed Khan (21), Mohammed Siddiqui (45) and Imran Siddiqui (22).
