MUMBAI: The Bombay high court has cracked the disciplinary whip again. A little over a month after suspending a judge in connection with the female feticide case, the HC on Tuesday suspended and contemplated disciplinary proceeding against T. G. Bansod, an Ad-hoc District Judge-I and Additional Sessions Judge in Amravati. The action, said sources in the judiciary, comes in the wake of alleged corruption complaints made by litigants against the judge after he had acquitted some accused in a murder case in Amravati.

The Chief Justice Mohit Shah and other judges who comprise the 'discliplinary authority' under the Maharashtra Civil Services.

(Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1979, issued orders to place Bansod under suspension with effect from the date of service of the order of suspension.

The notification was issued and signed by registrar general S B Shukre or the high court. The court further ordered that during the period that he suspension order shall remain in force, Bansod's head quarter would be Amravati and he would be unable to leave it without prior permission from the principal district judge. The HC also barred Bansod from accepting any private employment or to do business while under suspension. But during his suspension he is entitled to a subsistence allowance.
