898 people benefited by free health camp

MUMBAI: Apex Hospital, Borivali, conducted a special health check-up camp at different places in the month of January under the 'Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana' (RGJAY).

A total of 898 people were screened successfully out of which 92 people required further health check-up as they suffered from various health problems. 37 people from the 92 have been already started with their treatment.

The main aim was to make people aware of the importance of regular health check-ups.

In that camps hospital has done free Consultation as well as investigation of problems like heart, kidney stone, gynaecology, cancer as well as other life style diseases.

Almost 900 people were benefited by this camp.

The health check-up comprised of free blood pressure check-up, ECG, Lipid Profile, Blood Sugar and BMI.

The camp was conducted for the people from Tata Steel colony, Dongri, Shanti Nagar, Daulat Nagar, River Park Society, Hanuman Tekri, Devi Pada and Sambhaji Nagar.

Dr. Vrajesh Shah, MD, Apex Hospitals, said that, "We at Apex Hospital are going to conduct such camps till the month of March. Under the Scheme of RGJAY we aim to reach at least 3000 people who can be benefited. The yojana is a good step toward helping the needy and we are also committed in helping the society with free medical health check up camps."
